Toothy 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2021 Quill Gordon Classic and Reimagined I was thinking the other day about this pattern as many of you have posted your lovely renditions. I honestly haven't fished a Quill Gordon in easily 25 years, but it was fun to tie a classic version today. While I was tying it I thought about the elements of the Quill Gordon in reference to a pattern I have found myself tying a lot of in recent years, the Stalcup parachute emerger. I am confident it will fish. We will see in a few short weeks when things get rolling on the surface up here in CT.

I have a hard time with them too but on occasion they come out nice. Sadly they never survive beyond a couple of fish. Labor of love I guess-

Can you reference any similar sized hooks to give me an idea of their size?

The Alec Jackson's were made by Daiichi but I do not think they are available now. They have a lovely chrome finish.
