To fish or tie?

If it's to fish I vote for streamers. If it's to tie, it has to be salmon / steelhead flies.

Cheers,

Nick

i put stoneflies. i love to tie the small stuff (i guess since my eyes are still excellent) and i love to fish them. they are so versatile, useable in almost any application.

For the past while I've really been into classic wets and traditional wets from the UK. I've been slowly getting the materials to try my hand at classic salmon flies.......I'll post when I get a nice one done.

my faves aren't listed,

cripples, emergers, flymphs spent flies

I like tying flies for trout grayling sea-trout and salmon

tubes

waddingtons

speys

hairwings

muddlers

and my own weird emergers and special dries.

This week I have tied up a handful of Irish lough flies for this May.

I am still learning a vast amount, not least from this site,

tho' hopefully the learning curve is still steep.

Keep up the input chaps, this is a good place

Hey Roy, I'm tying up some Loch flies as well. I got my patterns off of the net from a site called traditional Scottish Loch flies. I had no luck trying to find Irish flies, do you have any info or patterns you could pass on?

I fish mostly with streamers in saltwater. When I fish for trout I love the dry fly. But when I tie for my own personal enjoyment, it's traditional salmon flies.
