These Rogue stoneflies were good for 4-5 trout each before the heads blew up; they still caught fish afterwards.

Probably my favorite sort of "surface fly.  Biot tail, black dubbing body, foam wing case. dubbing thorax, white antron just under wing case.  rubber legs on one.

Easier to incorporate the hackle and deer hair in a composite dubbing loop.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - moose body
rib - tying thread
body - elk hair
wing - Congo Hair white
collar - deer hair/hen brown (loop dubbed)

With snook season closed, I have more evening time to tie. Stocking up on the panfish flies for the 3wt. The big bluegill should be moving in to the shallows.

Some size 12 and a 14 of Bob Jacklin's green drakes from last night's Bugs and Bourbon. 

Hook: tmc 5262

Thread: Danville waxed 140 den. Olive

Rib: Danville waxed 70 den. Yellow. Doubled and twisted. 

Tail: nature's spirit all purpose deer hair

Wing: Medium dun comparadun deer hair

Abdomen/thorax: olive awesome possum or rabbit or antron (couple of each) 

Hackle: Whiting grizzly variant, cut flush on the bottom
