Ribbing - Gold or copper wire

Body - Pheasant tail fibers

Wing - White uni stretch

Hey Scott - I like this one. It would imitate emerging Chironomids quite nicely and as you mentioned, it could be tied in smaller sizes. I will have to experiment with variation on this style at my local lakes.

Finished the three large flies I will be throwing with my 16 weight. After a summer of no rain and way too many 90+ degree days, the weather is slowly starting to move towards the fall patterns. I look forward to getting back on the water.

Hook: Curved caddis, #12

Thread: Uni-Thread, 6/0, burnt orange

Tail: Craft foam, 2mm, segmented with Uni-thread 6/0, dk. brown

Body: Craft foam, 2mm with Ice Dub Tan

Legs: Sili-legs, barred brown

Wings: McFlylon Polypro, lt. copper

Eyes: Mono, med., black

Markings: Sharpie Marker, brown

Kite’s Imperial

This is a British dry fly pattern that was quite popular but until last night I never heard ofmit.

Hook.  ………   Mustad 94842

Thread ……..  Pearsall’s gossamer purple

Tail.      ……..   Rooster honey dun fibres

Body.   ……..    Heron herl.  Substitute what works and is pale grey

Ribbing …….   Fine gold wire

Hackle.  ……   Whiting Rooster cape Honey dun
