I like those, Rick.  What is the beautiful dun colored hackle on the left?

I'm calling it the Krinkle Bug.  My original thought was some sort of take off on an October Caddis, but it really seems more like an attractor pattern

Micro popper:

Hook: Dry fly, #16

Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0, white

Tail: Krystal Flash

Collar: Neck hackle

Body: Craft foam, 2mm (folded)

Eyes: Sharpie marker

The topwater bite was on fire this evening, but the size left something to be desired for most of the fish. My larger bugs were just getting swatted so I figured a few downsized poppers will fit the bit.

That just screams emerging caddis pupa! That body is DOPE! I see the body material says FTD, what kind of product is it?

Darrell,  with small poppers or streamers I tell my anglers to actually disregard what they can see (if anything) - just to keep their line tight with the rod tip right down in the water a bit - pointing directly where that bug or streamer landed... You'll feel the bite long before you can react to anything you see.   Now if only I could get them to strip strike and never try to strike a fish with the fly rod...  but that's something that every freshwater angler does.  It just doesn't work very well on the salt....

Nice looking fly, C_T.  I like the look of that possum hair.
