Cousin is a Chicken Swap - Reg. closed at 10 people

Recommended Posts

Came home for lunch, got a nice surprise in the mailbox.

Really some great flies, I think I'm a decent tier, but you guys keep me humbled.  Thanks for the flies, and thank you Kim for the gifts and another great swap.

Received a great set of flies today.  Thanks to all and I hope for a great holiday season for you and your families.  Kim, awesome job on picking the swappers and managing an on time swap.  Thanks for the gift and tying instructions on the flies. I will be certain to put them to use.

Tim

Yep, great set of flies. The quality of swaps on this board is amazing. Shop quality on almost every swap. Whether you save them or fish them they are all great contributions.

Came across these while re-organizing my tying desk and fly boxes, got a few more swaps also.  I meant to post them a while back, but now's as good a time as any.  My apologies for my poor photo skills, it was a great set of flies.  They'll all find a spot in one of my boxes.

Without the bead it's a Red Ass Kelso. Real name. Look it up. One of the standards of guides and regulars on the White River and Norfork in AR. When I go there I always carry them weightless, with the bead instead of the herl thorax, or like that one with the herl and the bead. I like to put the bead behind the soft hackle to help keep it flaring and not just laying back against the hook. Of the two it is the one I'd tie on first but the other has been used and proven purple is a viable color.
