Can anyone tell me how rare this is. Do a Google search and could not find hardly anything on it. And only one picture I found.

Nice looking vise. I came across a few references to it on the internet, seems like it was made by Thompson for Orvis, that's about all I could find.

The Orvis Baetis vise was a rotary vise that Renzetti threatened to sue Orvis over so Orvis dropped it and started selling the Renzetti Traveler instead.

i think the issue was a one piece bent arm not a multiple piece arm

Yes,  the bent arm was the issue. Peak also had to change their design because that.

Don't know. Dyna King has used a bent arm for a long time. Wolff/Anvil also.
