DFoster 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2021 1 hour ago, niveker said: Great variations of this venerable pattern. Nice wings @DFoster Thank you- I just caught what will most likely be my last Rainbow of the year on the last remaining RC I had in the box. It's a favorite fly, I have a framed copy of the Mary Orvis Marbury 1892 painting in my office. I wanted to try and tie replacements for the ones I lost or got ruined this year a little more 19th century, hence the tailing wing, sparse tail and longer than usual hackle. 1 hour ago, SBPatt said: Royal Coachman Softhackle II hook - WFC Model 6 #8 thread - Uni 8/0 black tag - tinsel gold tail - pheasant tail body - peacock herl/UniStretch Chinese Red center band 1st shoulder - chukar 2nd shoulder - pheasant body feather Regards, Scott Exceptional work as always Mr. Patt! Found this chartreuse squirrel tail at the local fly shop this weekend that can only be described as sexy and it really completes the fly. Fully expect these to slay some bass this summer 😎.
