Nice batch Philly- funny how effective a simple pattern like that can be, from fresh to salt water.

Thank you-   I just  caught what will most likely be my last Rainbow of the year on the last remaining RC I had in the box.

It's a favorite fly, I have a framed copy of the  Mary Orvis Marbury 1892 painting in my office.  I wanted to try and tie replacements for the ones I lost or got ruined this year a little more 19th century, hence the tailing wing, sparse tail and longer than usual hackle.

The chukar,  which looked great by itself, pretty much disappeared after I tied in the pheasant rump so I won’t waste it next time.

tail - yarn chartreuse
body - dubbing dyed neon olive (2 Tsp Rit Lemon Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Neon Green/2 cups water)
body hackle - dyed neon olive
1st shoulder - chukar dyed neon olive
2nd shoulder - pheasant rump dyed neon olive

Scott

Working on a concept for a swap. Found this chartreuse squirrel tail at the local fly shop this weekend that can only be described as sexy and it really completes the fly. Fully expect these to slay some bass this summer 😎.
