Its a pretty easy tie with common and inexpensive materials. If you haven't already, take a look at McFly's post and video The Carp Bug, basically the same thing. Even though you say you're new to tying, you probably know this by now but I'll say it anyway, don't be afraid to substitute different materials/colors for what an original pattern calls for.
