Mayo Bumble (variation)

51783580399_078580f788_c.jpg

51782947276_21b81990df_c.jpg

Used Claretbumbler’s version with a few very minor changes.  Head’s a bit lumpy; started with Danville chartreuse but didn’t like the end effect and the only yellow thread I had on hand is the thicker UTC.

hook - WFF Model 6 #10
thread - UTC 140 yellow
tail - golden pheasant crest
rib - small wire silver
body - dubbing yellow
body hackle - yellow/red
1st shoulder -chukar dyed yellow (1 Tbs Rit Golden Yellow/1 cup water)

Scott

EZ_Prince_1080.jpg

EZY Prince

Hook - Mustad 9671 or equivalent

Bead - Brass or tungsten

Weight - Lead/free/lead wire

Tail - Brown antron yarn

Ribbing - Copper wire

Body - Peacock herl

Wing - White antron yarn

Hackle - Brown hen

The ribbing wire will help to reinforce the peacock herl body but for additional durability wrap the herl around the tying thread into a rope chenille and coat the hook shank with your favorite brand of crazy glue, then wrap the herl forward

Echer-s-Wrecker-1080.jpg

Echer's Wrecker

Caddis Nymph

Hook - TMC 2487 or equivalent

Thread - Black

Hackle - Black tipped head feather from a Mearns quail

Bead - Olive glass or metal

Body - Micro cable #25, peacock

No Mearns quail so I substituted Guinea hen

Micro cables were produced by Doug's Bugs many years ago and are no longer to be found in fly tying world. I just twisted 1 strand of copper, green and red x-small ultra wire into a rope. Looks like peacock herl colors to me.
