niveker 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2021 Can't even imagine having to go through that at a distance like you two did, frustrating and scary for both, but especially scary for her all alone. Good you're back together and she's on the road to recovery.
skeet3t 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2021 vicrider, glad things are improving each day. Your comment about the pets reminded me of my emergency surgery, August 2020. We have two mixed Chihuahuas. One hangs out with the wife and the other hangs out with me. Jasper kept looking for me for 9 days. After I came home, he would sit outside the bathroom while I was in the shower. Since then, he sticks closer than a tick on a hound. They can be a great comfort. It sounds like she's going to be ok. My prayers for guys! The hospital was shut down so I was in the hospital from Wednesday to Monday. She was able to come up about 10 minutes before being wheeled to surgery. She had a time as it was supposed to take 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Surgery was more complicated that the surgeon thought. So, from Monday evening to Friday afternoon and discharge, she was able to stay with me. I was within an inch of a colostomy but the surgeon was able to get my innards sorted out.
