The name is kind of redundant; I mean, besides the ink, what do you think of?

hook - WFF Model 6 #10
thread - Uni 8/0 fire orange
tag - medium tinsel opal
tail - yarn sunburst
rib - small wire gold
body - dubbing sunburst
body hackle - died neon orange (70% Rit Golden Yellow, 30% Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
1st shoulder - golden pheasant tippet
2nd shoulder - pheasant rump dyed orange (1 Tbs Rit Sunshine Orange/1 cup water)
3rd shoulder - hen grizzly dyed claret (1 Tbs Rit Wine/1 cup water)

First attempt was all orange

Not bad, but a bit monochromatic; the claret breaks up the monotony.

Scott

I promise this is my final Goddard caddis. I think I’ll do a few Xcaddis or elk hair caddis.

Here’s Nordic Angler’s video if you’re interested. Flies like this are why you beg, borrow and steal for a decent partridge skin; the stuff in bags is mostly swill.

hook - Maruto 206BL #8
thread - Danville 6/0 fluoro pink
butt/body - Ice Dub UV tan
hackle(s) - partridge

Regards,
Scott

I’m afraid of it not floating like a cork. I’ll give one a good clipping and see what happens. Or maybe I’ll cut them off the hook and try leaving them thicker in the middle but shorter in length. More decisions.
