Well, I've waited long enough!  Here are some Bivisibles - with a name like that they just HAD to be in my 2X2 collection!

Bivisible - First tied by Edward Ringwood Hewitt in the early 1920's.

Hook - dry, 2-3 XL; 14-20

Thread - black

Body - 3 parts brown then 1 part white dry fly hackle

Bivisible Moose - Yes, this technically has 3 materials, but I wanted to show that any of the Bivisible variations can be tied with an optional tail.  For those 2X2 purists out there, get your mop chenille out and I'll submit to my 50 lashes!

Hook - standard dry, 12

Thread - brown

Tail - 7-10 moose body hairs

Body - 3 parts brown then 1 part grizzly dry fly hackle

Please feel free to tie your Bivisibles in any color combo you wish.  Tomorrow I'll show a POOR example of a 3-part "Bivisible".

Peccary Emerger

Hook - Mustad C068

Thread - Black

Tail - White poly/antron yarn

Abdomen - Peccary hair

Wing - White poly/antron yarn

Thorax - Peacock herl

Apply crazy glue to the hook shank prior to wrapping the peccary hair forward or overcoat with your favorite uv resin for durability. Also apply crazy glue to the hook shank prior to wrapping the peacock herl thorax forward.

Campbell’s Foam Hopper

A blast from the past.  These killed it for me on Soda Butte Creek back in the day (early 2000’s) when you could find space to stretch out and have some fun; those days are few and far between but the fly still works. They float, they’re visible and simple enough to tie that you won’t be afraid to cast them into the tightest spots where the trout live, and won’t risk drowning to retrieve one if it gets hung up.  Here’s his SBS if you’re interested http://flyanglersonline.com/flytying/intermediate/part42.php  Change color/size to meet your needs.

Campbell’s Foam Hopper (variation)

I prefer the full foam head; floats a little better and splats a lot more.  On anything smaller, I’d use 1mm foam for it.

Nice, I like this hopper.

I tried the link for the SBS but was unsuccessful.

Please, is there a foam base along the entire hook length and then dubbing placed over the foam or is the thorax dubbed and the foam tied in toward the end of the hook?

How is that full foam head created? Looks interesting for sure? Is that an separate piece tied in over the hook eye?

Fixed that busted link; sorry.  Here’s the steps used on a Foamhead Carnage Hopper Sequence is the same.

Cut another strip of foam (gap width; tie in on underside)

Poke a hole for the hook eye

Move thread to eye

Pull foam forward on underside; pull over eye, tie in at eye

Take a few wraps at eye (protects foam from splitting)

Cross thread over head, pull foam back, tie in

Tie in legs

Add indicator

Whip finish, SHHAN; trim legs, trim foam (topside and underside
