Can be tied in other colors - cinnamon, red, two color (red/black), brown, and even white, yellow & green! Hook - standard dry, 14-20 Thread - black Body Segments - black superfine dubbing Hackle - grizzly dry fly Deer Hair Beetle - Taken from The Art of Fly Tying by John Van Fliet. Substitute other color deer hair for a brown beetle or Japanese Beetle pattern or brown deer hair and lighter colored body dubbing for a June Beetle pattern. Black 70 ultra thread body - small silver, chartreuse and red ultra wire twisted together Thorax - peacock herl wing - black marabou with tips trimmed (because I skillfully moved some SHHAN from the head to the marabou tips with my fingers) eye? - chartreuse over orange goose biots.
