SBPatt 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 Looks like a hummingbird crash-landing; it'll float, should push some water. hook - Dai Riki 135 #10 thread - UTC 140 tan core - 7lb mono tail - moose body hair/Krystal Flash rootbeer rib - Krystal Flash rootbeer body - 1mm foam tan thorax - Ice Dub tan shellback - 2mm foam tan wing - deer hair/Krystal Flash rootbeer indicators - 2mm foam orange/chartreuse mash barb, start thread; put a loop in one end of the mono, brush on a little Super Glue and tie it in clean, stack, measure (2x hook length) a clump of moose body hair; trim butts/tie in tie in KF (leave 1 strand long for rib); adjust hook angle and put loop on the gallows wrap moose an KF on to mono tie in foam strip brush on a little Super Glue and wrap foam up the body and back down; tie off/trim trim off tag end of the mono, re-set hook angle, rib body with strand of KF trim KF taper a strip of 2mm foam (I made the fat end a little wider than the gap); tie in make a dubbing loop; insert some Ice Dub, trim/spin and wrap it at base of shellback tie in some more KF, make another dubbing loop clean, stack, measure (tips to base of tail) a clump of deer hair, insert the deer hair in the clip, trim butts to length, insert clip in loop, capture butts with thread, release from clip, spin moisten fingers, stroke fibers back, wrap trim out underneath and on top pull foam forward, tie down at eye Cut a "v" notch in foam strip; tie in taper another foam strip; tie in half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim everything that needs trimming Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
