  1. I was thinking of the simpler ones to start just to get down the basics of tying and practicing the knots and all.
  2. I am new to tying. I was curios as to which flies are the easiest to tie. I have a basic setup with a vise, tools and all. On the flies does not matter if dry or wet. I am thinking for crappie, bluegill, trout and possibly salmon. I have been going some reading, and watching various videos on YouTube, but no tying yet (to tired when I get home from work) Thanks for the help. There is a lot of good information here from the threads that I have looked thru.
  3. Hi everyone, A little about me. I am a few hours outside of LA in Southern California. I have always kind of curios about fly fishing and my dad had about 40 flies and a pole. Unfortunately it got sold and was not able to go and give it a try. wish I had it now. I have been in the food industry for many many years. I would be mostly smaller streams, occasional pond/lake.
  4. Hi Everyone, I am new to the forums and fly fishing/tying. I have been fishing for about 35 years but with a basic ultra light/light setup. I am changing it up some so I have more options. I have gotten a basic setup and borrowed some books from the library. The books are not helping me much cause I don't pick it up easy that way. I am more of a watch video or see it demonstrated in front of me by someone and then do it on my own and or have up help me by walking me thru it kind of learner. Any suggestions and or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Rich
