Another problem is there are guys that spend extra money to next day air their flies so they are there by the due date and then the swap ends up being extended because of a number of swappers that still don't have their flies to the SM on time, so that guy that spent the extra $5/10 to get his flies to the SM on time is just screwed because of the other late swappers.

OK, lets blame someone else because your flies weren't ready on time to be shipped on the cheap.

That isn't the point. The point is if you think yours won't make it on time then that person also should dish out the extra money to ship theirs express to get them there on time also so the swap will run smoothly and the other participates don't have to wait for weeks to get flies back.

I know things happen in life but communication in a swap is expected.
If you cant get the flys to the host within two weeks of the dead line then perhaps it is best to pass on the swap
this gives you a bit of leeway in-case they get lost on there way to the host so others are not waiting on you .
If something comes up and you have to drop out let the people in the swap know .


basic communication
the swap master will send you the mailing address
then when you have them al ready to mail out and on there way send a pm or reply to the post that you sent the flys out
then they will respond when they receive them .
then they will let you know there in the mail back to you
then you let them know when you receive them back.

if someone is participating in a swap and they don't respond to the swapmister with 2 weeks time from a sent personal message, they should be removed from the swap and give someone else a chance to fill that swap spot who can tie the flies needed before the deadline. 

 

If someone totally just disappears and holds up a swap because they don't get their flies in on time without communicating with the group leader, they should receive a 7 day forum ban to show how serious we are about keeping things on track. The person holding everyone up asked to be a part of it, no one asked them to join up. Can't tie the flies needed in time, don't join and just tie flies for yourself in your own free time.

Yeah- hosting a swap on CFRF, only 1/5 got in on time- still haven’t got the rest 17 days after due date!
