Not one but two LAW vises on eBay!

Recommended Posts

Wow, first time Ive seen two LAW vises up for sale at the same time. Can anyone enlighten me what the one without the table clamp is? Ive not seen those jaws before.

Any guesses on the selling price? Im thinking around $5k!

That is way more than I : have, want, will spend or can comprehend spending on a vise?

Only a little over $1600.00 at the moment.

I don't pay attention to the LAW vises, but there are pictures posted often enough. I've never seen a picture like the inline one before, either.

Walpy, they aren't "production" vises. They are, as I understand it, individually built.

But, that's not why they're priced so high ...

They're "collectable" ... that's all it takes to make something worth a few thousand more than material and workmanship.

Like comic books that go for hundreds or thousands of dollars just because there are fewer of them available.

Ah ha, I had no idea LAW ever made a travel vise, you live and learn!

I have a near copy of the LAW bench vise, its terrific and I only paid about $700 for it. However it didnt improve my fly tying nor did it make it easier of faster!

Never heard of them - what makes them special?

They are a high quality well designed vise that gained a following among some well known (and not so well known) tiers. They were never a cheap vise, but after Lawrence Waldron quit making them the price for existing vises skyrocketed.

Not the set, just one. Black or red?
