Very nice work! I'm assuming that he caught it on a pink squirrel nymph too.

I agree with the others. I've seen plenty of "ok" release mounts where they weren't quite realistic enough. You nailed this one. Great job!!

Right there with you, Caloosa.

Here in SE Florida I see very questionable sailfish, tarpon, snook and permit mounts. Not so many questionable bass though.

Perhaps it has to do with the amount of work and time it would take to do with those big fish what Prairiedrifter did with this trout. A great sailfish replica might be unaffordable.

Prairie, how many hours do you put into a job like this?

Normally one day working on the blank getting it ready for paint, then a day laying down basic colors, then a day doing details. Sometimes it takes a little longer, sometimes a little less. I put this type of detail in all my fish, from small freshwater, to large saltwater fish.
