  1. Wow, that was an overload of information. But I am definitely thankful for it. I've been tying a few toads the last week and will hit the bench hard this week until we head out. I seriously appreciate the help guys.
  2. Heading to Islamorada in two weeks and I believe the tarpon will be moving by then. Can anyone provide some insight on beginner tarpon patterns? Coming from Charleston, SC it's mostly redfish that we target, but I would love to bring a tarpon in on a fly that I have tied.
  3. Does anyone know of a good assorted hook box or pack that contains numerous hook sizes and styles? They should really make something similar to a dubbing dispenser but with hooks...
  4. Thinking of heading out to the lake this weekend in the old War Eagle. Probably will toss a few small baitfish patterns to get deep as I doubt the bass will be hitting anything topside. Just a little more info for the weekend. Supposed to be sunny and around 60 on Saturday. Any thoughts on other patterns? P.S. I'm hoping I put this in the right section...
  5. Thanks for the help guys. I went up to HPT in Charleston and spoke with the fly guy in the shop and he showed me a few pointers. I definitely need to pick up a UV cement kit and dubbing spinner tool.
  6. Hey y'all, JappyFish here from South Carolina. Looks like a great forum. Just started tying about two weeks ago and I already haven't been able to put it down!
  7. Thanks guys. This will definitely help out a lot. I'll check out the bench. Agn54, would it be possible for you to message me the recipie for that second fly that you mentioned above. That fly is beautiful!
  8. East coast. I live in Charleston, SC but frequent places in Florida like Boca Grande. I have a few chartreuse/white streamers but as you probabaly know, it's always nice to branch out and try something new.
  9. So, I just started tying about two weeks ago and already I can't put it down. I've tied the basic buggers and streamers and have even done a few bead heads and dries. I'm trying to branch out now and specifically tie for species that I'm chasing. Does anyone have any good ideas for basic trout flies? Any recipes/photos/directions would help!!!
