  1. Salt is a ton or work, and yeah its costly. I had to make a decision when I had a salt tank - get out fishing and camping or keep the tank. Coming home to some water wicking out on to the floor and the decision was real easy for me. Here was what my 120g looked like before all was sold. You can see that the novelty of maintenance has worn off with all the algae and the prize inhabitant - a copperbanded butterfly. I am along for the ride on your thread - good job so far.
  2. ok, second post and my first fly (actually third one ever!). I didn't have seal fur but it is a variation on this pattern: Green Seal Bugger Hook: Mustad R74 Size 8 Thread: 8/0 Olive Weight: 0.015 Lead Tail: Black Marabou Rib: Medium Copper Wire Body: Green Seal Dubbing Hackle: Burnt Orange Grizzly I used a #6 Streamer hook and Green Olive Dubbing, two strips of crystal flash added as well. I have problems finding Hackle (like everyone) so it was just a ginger strung neck hackle.
  3. That is one cool way to do the rock in a tank. I love the shelf and filter disguise. I too love aquariums I have had a 120 salt and 90 fresh and let both go to new owners who had the time & energy. Along for the ride!
