Desk pads

Recommended Posts

I tie on a very old dark oak desk. I use a white desk pad from the stationary store, as a background. You can write on it, wipe off head cement on it and when it gets too dirty, you just tear off the top sheet and your good for another couple of months.

Heck of a good idea. I use a big peice of poster board and cut it to the size I need. When I need another just cut another peice. The desk pad would make it easier to keep the desk cleaner.

Great tip. For the folks new to tying, a background is important cuz it helps relieve eyestrain by removing the clutter behind the fly that your eyes see. I use a white background, but any soft color works well. There are a few backgrounds made that clamp onto your vice post, but they can be expensive ($30+/-). This is a really good idea, thanks.

I use foam board from craft store ,cut to size

About $2.00 a sheet roughly 2ftx3ft

When it gets dirty turn it over or buy another piece
