RBF: short fly rod
Posted 08 May 2014 - 12:16 PM
I have a 5'8"" fiber glass blank #5 waiting for thread and guides.
I am tempted to put the stripper a lot closer to the cork grip than on the 8-9 foot rods I normally build. I am thinking 14-15 inches in front of the grip (on longer rods I would often have a 20 inch distance). But are there any special guidelines or considerations for placement of the stripper guide on very short blanks like this one.
