Last summer we touring some out of town family around Grand Teton National Park and we had this guy land on the windshield of the car and hitch ride around Jackson Lake. Any ideas what kind of an (extra) terrestrial this is?

It is impossible to decide which species of Longhorn Beetle (family: Cerambycidae) this is. There are A LOT of species with this general form, and the vast majority are not pests. Unfortunately, a few introduced invasive species in this family are very dangerous to North American forests.
