  1. It would be nice if one of the owners would post a photo, I have never seen one before. Thanks
  2. Must be a hoot to cast, do you wear a helmet? Lol
  3. Thanks for all the great info, any chance of seeing that video.
  4. i have fished this area on a few occasions. You say end of April? Bring various nymphs and streamer patterns with you. But have some early season dries, such as a quill Gordon. The local shops will give you a better idea of whats working at that particular time. But general nymph selection for mayflies and caddis, and some of you favorite streamers should work fine. fish deep, fish slow and cover the water. Fish are still not going to be real active.
  5. I have to agree with all of the positive things said here about Collins hackle right up there withwhiting and I think it's better than Metz. Bought many neckles/saddles from him.
  6. I have a 7 ft 4 weight diamond glass and a 7ft 4 weinght bamboo that i use. i love them both for small waters. I would think either of you choices would be good.
  7. Saw that some one started a thread on who is the best realistic fly tyer. As the topic was locked, here are some of my favorites besides most of the ones mentioned. You may or may not have heard of Kevin Mc Enerney, if he was still tying, he'd be a rock star , also one of the best deer hair tyers ever!!. Yaz Yamashito, who's nymphs are awesome, may he rest in peace. Ted Niemeyer, also i vote for Bill Logan also, his flies are truly amazing.
  8. I have a question I could use some help with. I have seen photo's of lfies done with backgrounds that were obviously added in afterwards. Like a salmon fly with water falls in the background. I assume that this is done with the aide of a computer. Anyone here know how to do that. I am going to be taking alot of fly photo's and need all the help I can get when doing the backgrounds. Thanks
  9. Hey there Horseshoes when you get to any of my patterns and find yourself short of a material. Drop me a line, I might be able to help you out. Bill Chandler
  10. I have several vises, 2 regal bronzes, an hmh. But I do most of my tying now on a T-Rex from Italy, a great vise.
  11. I will be there tying my little fingers off, yaking to everyone. Drinking more than I should, eating more than I should and telling tall tales. Hope to see you all.
  12. Greetings Smalliehunter, I would like 2 shirts, both xl. One Irish Green and one Royal. Thanks.
  13. I learned yesterday that Fran Betters passed away. His passing will leave a void in this area of the US. Not only for his fly tying talent, but his stewardship of upstate New York rivers. God Bless and RIP.
