question on scuds

Recommended Posts

Do scuds live in ponds and/or small lake enviroments? If so, just wondered if they would be a viable fly for bluegill and crappie? Thanks for your input.

Scuds live in rivers, streams, ponds and lakes. They are usually found in the shallows in dense underwater vegetation. If you are tying up some scud patterns for the lakes in your region it would be good to collect some of the local crustaceans and note their sizes and colours.
