flytire 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2006 If you can find the right kind of mylar piping, you can get a three for one deal. 1. Mylar piping (great for fly bodies) 2. Z-lon/Antron core (look for this material, not the one with the string/twine for a core) 3. Tinsel (unbraid it for the tinsel) ( all kinds of different colors)
Hot Tuna 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2006 Nice tip....I'll have to look for the piping with the Zlon...it's a nice bonus. Zlon is way over priced. John M.

FrenchCreek 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Great suggestion for the piping. I've found some "mylar" type stuff, it looks like woven Krystal flash. I found it in a sewing store, and use it for any pattern that calls for winding mylar/flash as a body. It does not work very well for "piping" applications. The stuff is called "Plastic Canvas 7", made in the UK. You get 8 yards per card for about $6.00. The card says it is distributed by "Rainbow Gallery", N. Hollywood CA.
