  1. My initials are SW and 0352 is the numerical designation of my MOS (job) when I was in the Marine Corps.
  2. That is friggin awesome!!!!!! The first one is my favorite also. Looks like it's balancing on top of the screw. Very cool.
  3. Great pics! Your story to go along with the dog pic had me laughing. I had a half black lab at one time that was the exact same way. She had a big roomy doghouse, but wouldn't step foot into it no matter what the weather was doing.
  4. Very cool!! Great pics and the carvings are awesome.
  5. Awesome shots guys!! Thanks for sharing. I wish I could have gotten some. Guees I have a two year wait.
  6. I hope someone's getting some good pics. Nothing but clouds here
  7. Finally had a nice day to get out and shoot some pics with the new camera, so here are a few from this evening. The last two are 100% crops. The geese are pretty used to people being around so I could get a lot closer to them and didn't have to crop so much. Did I already say that I need a bigger lens? :dunno:
  8. Great pics! I chased a hawk all over today, but just didn't have the zoom to get any good pics. Hopefully next time he'll see fit to fly a little lower for me...lol This is seriously addicting. I need more gear. LOL
  9. Well, first off..... I definately need a bigger lens Here are a few shots and their settings. I had a brainfart and was messing with the SS instead of the ISO so they are all at ISO 400 except for the last one at 800. 100% crops. 10. Thanks Wulff. The biggest lens I have right now is the 55-200mm f/4-5.6G, so I won't get anywhere near as close a shot as yours. I was hoping to play around with it the last couple nights but it's been cloudy and rainy, so no moon, stars, sun or anything here. Hopefully I'll get a chance or two before Wednesday.
  11. Anyone have suggestions on what settings to use on my D40 to capture some pics of this?
  12. That is outstanding Ashby! I love the color of the sky in the first one. I'll definately be shooting some pics of the moon with my new camera.
  13. I just couldn't stand it anymore. Went out tonight and bought the Nikon D40 package that Vito was asking about. I am friggin STOKED! I've been wanting a good camera for awhile now and after seeing pics from several of you guys on here, I've been truly inspired. I can't wait to get out and start shooting. Many, many questions to follow soon. Vito, thanks for letting me/us know about the package deal Best Buy had. Great deal.
