  1. Does anyone know what type of bead is used on a #18 Mercer's micro mayfly? All the beads I have just go over the eye of the hook.
  2. It seems lots of people tie furled leaders. I am wanting to know what are some of the loop numbers that people are using for 6wgt fly rods and up. Also what type of materials are you using for dry fly, nymphs etc.. I started to make some leaders a couple of months ago and just wanted to get a feel for different types of leaders. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I fish alot of scud patterns at the Miracle Mile in WY. Most of the time I fish a Tiemco 2457 or equivalent hook in sizes 10-16. I have used Mustad 3906's also but just prefer the look of the "classic" scud hook.
  4. This is a quick idea of who I am. I started fly fishing and tying when I was 16. Seeing that I'm 57 now, thats alot of water under the bridge. I taught myself to tie flies and cast and I still am learning. I am a transplant from Rochester, NY and moved to Colorado in 1973. Fortuantely I don't have to deal with the crowds and "opening day" as you do in the East as we are allowed to fish year round out here. Tailwater fisheries are great even in the winter as are many of our rivers . Sorry to make some people jealous but I am truly greatful to live in the west. John Kalamen

    Furled Leaders

I am new to this web site but thought you would like to hear that the web site Furled Leaders out of England deals only with that subject. The site has set-ups, formulas, etc. Just thought you might like to know.
