  1. I have used those neoprene flats boots for years; but old tennis shoes are great...harder soles. The shoe strings can be a problem if you are fly fishing. http://www.threebone.com is a website with more than enough information in regards to Flats Fishing For Bonefish in the Florida Keys, for the Do It Yourself people, by Roadside wading the flats from Key West to Islamorada. The site explains, where, when, How, with Flats Fishing reports, bonefish photos, flats fishing blog, and even a humor blog. If you are going bonefishing anywhere, it is a good place to search for flats fishing information. Enjoy your trip. [email protected]
  2. Great Report! Well done! I have a lot to learn. I caught the fish up by the hatchery; but explored from Sycamore Flats to above the hatchery. It was very difficult fishing for me; but was happy to catch something. I am not well versed on nymphing; but I managed catching one on a prince nymph. I also used a wooly bugger and a red/white/silver streamer that worked. I just got back from Jacobs Fork...and I think there is something wrong with it, as there was some nice pools of nothing.
  3. I just got back from the Davidson River last weekend. Fishing was tough until it rained overnight. I caught three in the higher water; but the next day was very tough again. I fished it about a month ago and did better. I have a lot to learn about fishing their, because it is not easy finding them, and getting them to bite. It is always a great time being in the outdoors exploring though. When I am not trout fishing, I do quite a bit of flats fishing for bonefish on-the-fly.
