tomcraw 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2016 In Charlie Craven's "Tying Nymphs" he's calling for "Super Floss" for legs on a Pat's rubber legs. I'm trying to order materials and was wondering what a substitute for that would be at JStockard. Would something like the Hareline micro legs be similar? I'm not sure how to tell what diameter this should be: http://www.jsflyfishing.com/item/sm-720070-0000/hareline-grizzly-micro-legs/1.html Tying in sizes 4-10 roughly. Jaydub 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2016 It is a spandex material. I've used Spirit River Flex-Floss and the Fly tyers dungeon product. Stockard carries Hareline Life-Flex which is probably the same material.

utyer 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2016 Before there were "Pats rubber legs," there were girdle bugs. Same fly, but we used any rubber legs we had, and I still do. They work just as well. One of my favorites is to use orange or white rubber legs, and then use a black and brown marker to color them up.
FIN-ITE 34 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2016 I like the Montana Fly Company Speckled Sexi Floss. Same material as others have listed, except that it is already barred.
