just started learning to fly fish ( son wanted to learn so here we go ) also thinking about tying my own.

Depending on where you are, there might be clubs/tying meetings where you can have fun learning AND tying a fly at the same time.  Might even be members who can help with the fishing and the tying.

LOL  Small world in that we both know where Lake Monroe is.  I grew up in Indiana and moved here.

RRSP, did it again today. Good on #14 green beetle and and #16 BWO 

 

I'm about 45 miles south of Joplin, near I49, so an ~hour to the park.
