I know what I'm using to hackle my flies. Tied here as a Fall Drake; change color/size to suit your needs. hook Dai Riki 320 #12 thread - UTC 70 grey brown tail - Congo Hair brown rib - Uni-Stretch brown abdomen - dubbing tan wing - Congo Hair white hackle - deer hair mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; tie in a clump of CH, trim butt/ cover with thread tie in CH; fold, wrap to bend, trim shuck (gap width) tie in ribbing dub thread/dub body to wing counter wrap rib; tie off/ trim create thread loop; wax pull wing back, take some thread wraps in front to set proper angle clean, stack, measure (1.5 x gap width) a clump of deer hair; insert in clip, insert clip in loop, release hair, spin stroke fibers back, wrap behind/ in front of wing, tie off/trim half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim out underside of hackle trim wing Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
