  1. Keep the extras, with what happened to me I wasn't able to tie the extra's I normally send along.
  2. Well I finished them last night, shipped today at noon. Three hours total while helping my daughter do homework.
  3. Finishing them tonight, just need a place to send them. I want to get these out before we leave to open our summer place in Maine.
  4. Well I'm going to sit down tonight and crank out these flies. I was thinking of dropping out earlier this month, but I really enjoy tying and think I'm ready to start. I was dreading being alone with my thoughts, but I'm getting better. The background is that on April 21st at approximately 11:45 am my younger brother shot himself. Even typing this is still hard. We will never know why a sane, rational, smart and handsome man would do this. He had a good job, two houses, a great family and was only 41 yrs old. He was getting a divorce, but things would have ended fine. He left my wife, and two nieces, three stepsons and his wife devastated. My wife has known him since he was eighteen. His new family has known him for eight years. The kids real father is a dick and they all left notes in the casket saying Peter, my brother, was the real father to them. I lost my mother in 2001 at 52 to breast cancer and three years later my father died of a broken heart at 55. He and my father were best friends and I don't think he ever recovered. God bless you Pete and I hope you found peace.
  5. The Ducks Sipper is the one with one circle. I chnaged it up a little by adding a little marabou and flash tail
  6. I'm in with a Duck's Sipper (Topwater), it's in the latest Fly Tyer. I tied one over the weekend after I read the article. I'll post a picture tomorrow.
  7. From Steve P............... Yes sir I am I dropped them in the mail box yesterday evening... should have them by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest. Steve
  8. Finally got them in the mail at noon today, been sitting on my desk for a week.
  9. All set just need an address. How many are we sending now?
  10. Finnished my first one................ Start by placing the popper in a vice and gradually enlarge the opening in the rear about 1-2 cm down the slit with a drill bit. This will allow the lump from the tail material to be placed inside the popper body. Push a finish nail into the rear of the slit and tie fishing line to the end of the nail. Suspend the popper body from the ceiling in the area you will paint. Start with three base coats of yellow. When this is dry hold the nail, with a latex glove, point the slit away from you. Do this four times while coating the top with Rustoleum color shift green. Take the flies down and drill out where the eyes will be with a forstner bit to make a flat spot. The 10 mm eyes took a 1/8 bit. Clean the plastic out of the bit after each eye. Glue the eyes with instant glue gel and place the eye onto the fly with pliers or some other tool. Tie the flies back up and coat with two to three coat of a clear gloss once the eyes are dry. Allow to dry for 24 hours. The tail is tied as follows; 3/0 long shank stainless Red crystal flash (spread out once it’s secured. ), over which is yellow marabou. Black marabou on each side of the hook. Black crystal flash over this, spread out once it’s secured. Top the whole tail with emerald green marabou. Do a dry run first to ensure the foam body fits over the tail. Remove the foam body and saturate the tail lump with liquid instant glue. Spread gel instant glue over the hook shank and place the body back on pushing it all the way down. Allow to dry 24 hours. Tip the fly over and seal the slit with yellow nail polish.
