Single hook Streamers

Recommended Posts

I don't have very many single hook streamers. Does anyone have any single hook zonkers or any others they like along with a video or tying info?

One of my personal favs is the Murdich Minnow. I did a video on my version of the fly several years back:

Belly Scratcher is another good one:

And I have a friend who loves the Bart-O Minnow:

Double bunny? I don't have any pics available at the moment. Probably dozens of videos out there.

I have a small leech I use, measure so the tail about a hook length, pierce the tail with the hook, skin side up, secure with tight wraps, move the thread forward, then wrap the fur forward and tie behind a cone head or bead. Bam, you're done.

I tie this one in both weightless and cone head weighted, it's basically a plus-sized bugger. Marabou tail, complex twist body (see FlyFishFood), some rubber legs, and either deer hair/cone head or Laser Dub/Fish Mask.

Clouser Deep Minnow

Lefty's Deceiver

Joe Brooks Blonde series

Half-and-Half

the list is endless

For baitfish emulators, most of the time simpler is better

Joel, I believe I've said before that you & I think much alike! I would add Seaducers too. I always carry the ones you've listed & the Seaducers. I also don't have any streamers that aren't single hook. dry.png

For the fishing I do, even with very large streamers, I still have hooked enough fish with the single hook, that I see no need for more hooks on my flies. If a fish strikes short, so be it. wink.png

Jeff I like it. Where do you get the paint from in this video? Complex Twist Bow River Bugger Tutorial[/size]

Kevin

It's ProTec powder paint. I got it from Bass Pro.
