life cycle help plz

Recommended Posts

Hi

First of all what a great forum and I have been lurking in the background for a while but now I would love your advice :)

My 8 year old son has ask me to tie him some flies and frame them for his bedroom at his mums house. I would like to tie some flies to complete a life cycle but after much searching I have no idea what patterns I should tie.

I would be greatful if yous could post photos for me to tie a group of flies to complete a life cycle :)

Thanks in advance from N Ireland

I have no photos for you but I would suggest you select a species common to your son's location then tye one of the following series:

Caddis

small larva, med larva, pupa, adult, egg-laying female, spent adult

Mayfly

small nymph, med nymph, emerger, dun, spinner, spent spinner

Choose a common caddisfly or mayfly and we will help you with patterns.
