  1. Great smoky mountain national park anglers companion by Ian Rutter is an excellent book for the park. (I have no financial relation to this) . It is cheap on Amazon. Also, once you get to the park stop at the visitors center for a free park fishing pamphlet that has a very valuable map of the streams. It also discusses closed areas and any special regs. Plan a few different places especially since you could encounter high water. If it rains a lot I would suggest higher altitude streams to target brook trout.
  2. Thanks for the info! I'm going to read about it. I have had a few pm with some locations to check into also. Hopefully it will happen this year or next.
  3. I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a place to go sometime between April-June to have a chance at diy bonefish. I have used google and read about different places. I'm looking for a place where my wife can have a vacation and I can walk around a little. I do not want anything 5 star. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  4. There is a popular pdf document for kens stealth bomber that can be found online for a a size 6 hook. It has a paper pattern you can cut out. I haven't ever come across any other paper patterns for foam bugs. It sounds like you are looking for away to cut them out quickly, cheap, and consistent. My suggestion is look for ways to measure your foam size to the size of hook. For example.matching width to hook gap and length to two hook thanks. Once you get a cutout you like for a size kelp one unused for reference and tracing more patterns.
  5. I got mine yesterday also. Just got worried I didn't get placed on the reservation list.
  6. I was wondering if anyone who reserved a FTD holiday gift box has gotten the email to pay for them? When I reserved mine the follow up message said emails for.payment would be sent on 10/25. I just want to make sure I didn't get missed. I haven't heard back from the mad scientist yet.
  7. I'm further south so maybe she will be okay then. I have read Brittanies don't do as well in cold water since their coats don't produce much oil. That may not apply below the mason Dixon line.
  8. Thanks for sharing. That is some fine looking water. How does your dog do in colder weather? My Brittany is not a year old yet but she loves to play in the water. I'm thinking of trying to find her a neoprene vest.
  9. Brittany's do make the best fishing partners!
  10. Hello everyone. I live in Birmingham, AL and have been lurking on this forum for a while. I like to tie my own bugs for redeye and smallmouth bass. Looking forward to all there is to learn on this site.
