Another flash from the past.

Recommended Posts

I was sorting through some more estate stuff. There's some nostalgic old vises.

To the far left is a Herter's vise, next a Thompson and on the right is something else from Herter's. It appears to be associated with the vise but i'm not sure what it is for. My first thought would be for rod winding. I'm sure you guys can tell me what it is.

Also, I'm wondering about how old the vises might be.

Thanks Mark

It is the Herters bobbin rest tool stand model number T15T it came with the model 9 vise kit, the whole thing set ran under $17.00 in 1973. I still have one but seem to have lost the cast iron pedistal base over the years. The herters number 9 was one of my first vises purchased still have it. The kit had vise, bobbin, whip finisher, hackle plier, tool stand, mirror, cast iron tray, bodkin, hackle guard, winging pliers, and scissors. $16.37
