Nice. I've tied a few tube flies. Since I tend not to use wire when I fish for pike I imagine the scene where the pike takes the hook home with it and the tube fly sinks slowly to the bottom. Not sure why that bothers me since I occasionally lose a regular fly to a pike. I got the materials for tubes, guess I should try tying some over the winter.

cnc- Are the materials tied in around the tube or have you placed them in a dubbing loop and wrapped them around the tube? I have been using the dubbing loop for the front portion of my pike tube flies after watching Niklaus Bauer use the dubbing loop to mix and wrap multiple materials. I was having problems until I got the MP Twister, that tool makes it much easier to control the materials and easier to wrap.

Philly- get the wire and you will sleep easy at night.
