kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 There will be a total solar eclipse on Friday, March 20th. The eclipse will start near Greenland, pass over the Norwegian Faroe Islands, and continue to the northeast. For more information, go to Space.com. Terje- are you reading this? kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 Piker- You need to grab a camera also. There should be great viewing in Scotland. Looks like 0930 UTC for Scotland, and 0945 for the Faroe Islands according to the diagram on Space.com. Bill
Piker20 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 Yep, going to be clear fingers crossed for a good shot. Today the cloud never lifted so hoping its not like that
kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 May the Egyptian Sun god RA smile upon all photographers on Friday. Bill
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2015 Bill.... isn't the whole idea of a solar eclipse to not have the sun shine at least for the duration of the event? If the sun god keeps shining, their eclipse photos won't be worth much. :-)
kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2015 FlaFly- Didn't want Terje & Piker to have their photos ruined by cloud cover during the eclipse. Perhaps I wasn't very clear about my earlier post. Last fall, the solar eclipse in Dallas was obscured by high clouds. It was a fuzzy blob in my backyard. I was all set up to shoot a time lapse from start to finish, didn't happen for me. In disgust, I went back into the house and ate dinner! Bill
Adam Saarinen 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2015 Will me & Henrik be able to see anything? Might be interesting to see something other than beautiful wemon everywhere!

kentuckytroutbum 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2015 Florida- That's fine, no problem there. Terje- Maybe the clouds will break, if you've got an intervalometer you could set it up on a time delay to start a sequence. Adam- That's a hard choice......eclipse, or wemon, ....or both? Everyone, just be careful about the sun, it can damage your eyes, and the camera sensor. Use a helio filter to be safe. Bill
Crackaig 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2015 Well with 20 minutes to go we have blanket cloud. Everything is ready but no sight of the sun. Cheers, A.
Crackaig 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2015 Well we didn't get to see totality, but the cloud broke enough for a few minutes for us to see most of it. And that was that! Cheers, C.
