  1. a spey swap! im in for sure.
  2. 1- stimulator 2- elk hair caddis 3- chernoble ant
  3. i put eyes on most of my flies, how can you expect a fly to work if it cant see where its going?
  4. i recived my flies today, thanks to everyone some really nice looking flies. ill give them a swim for summer runs this year. hunthicks-thanks for hoasting the swap. the materials for my polar shrimp are as follows: thread- fl. shell pink ultra thread (distributed by wapsi) tag- lagartans gold embossed tinsel tail- natural golden pheasant tippet strands body- shrimp pink seal fur dubbing (distributed by Super Fly) rib-same as tag hackle- shrimp pink premium strung neck hackle (also distributed by Super Fly) wing- natural polar bear hair. hope the pattern catches you some fish this fall. if you havent heard of them Super Fly is a canadian tying materials distributer, they dye all their own stuff and also sell the dyes. im not sure if your shops back east stock their products, but if they dont send me a pm and I can help you get a hold of some. thank again to all jason
  5. id be interested as long as the due date is fairly late. a one-forone spey swap would be very cool speys are my true passion.
  6. a depressingly large mess of tying material, coins and a few cd's... i think, though they could have been taken in to the abyss and be for ever lost.
  7. heavy metal, punk rock really anything hard and fast
  8. spey casting is a great sect of the sport. basicly what makes spey casting direrent than single hand casting is that with the spey your fly never traves be hind you, instead you set your fly either upstream or downstream of you(known as the anchor). the fly line then forms a "D" between your rod tip and "the anchor", the D loop then creates a load in your rod provding the power in the cast. contrary to common thought spey casting is very easy to learn, with proper instructuin that is. hope that helps. jason
  9. im in with an unnamed steelhead matuka.
  10. if your going to be doing a lot of steelheading, you should look in to a spey rod someware arround a 12'4" 8wt. it will allow you to cover the water very effectively and let you throw huge flies. if you are going to get a single hander i'd go for a 9' 8wt. an 8 seems the be the best all around line wt. for a salmon/steelhead rod.
  11. thanks, glad to hear they arrived safely.
  12. hunthicks, i have 11 size 2 polar shrimp variations that will be in the mail tomorrow. jason
  13. i've never been in a swap but im interested if you still have room.
