Love how you did the legs there. Is that with a dubbing bump to get them splayed like that?

Regular big yellow rubber band has a curve to it. Knot on end pull it thru, trim, knot the other end same orientation. Spot of Krazyglue to lock the knot. The lil one has smaller rubber band. Main problem with rubber bands is finding the right colors
Used real large rubber bands on these 7/0 poppers. Work/roll the curve of them for orientation for the legs

Those curved bands would make great pincers for craw fish flies.

Main problem I've found with real rubber bands ... they deteriorate much faster than synthetic materials.  Not a problem if your using your flies within a week or two of tying them.  I used rubber band material for a batch of foam bodied poppers.  The ones that sat in the box for more than a couple of weeks were done.  The legs broke off as soon as I touched them.  Resewed synthetic material through the bodies and those are still good several months later.

Those sure look good on those big poppers, though !!!
