  1. I love classic hair wings. Great job on this one. Garren
  2. Yep, I will be at the expo. Looking forward to it again. The two day format makes for a great weekend. Garren
  3. Hi Randy - great looking steelhead fly. How are the hen saddles working out for you? Garren
  4. Hi Andres, The site looks nice. Are you going to be at Somerset again this year? Garren
  5. Hi Wayne, I like to use another hook for the extended body, that has had its eye and hook part clipped off. This doesn't wory well for a fishing fly, but looks really nice on a realistic fly. I have a step by step PDF on my website here: http://ultimatehook.com/WovenMayfly.pdf Garren
  6. I would have to go with the Norlander bobbin. I really like the retreival of the thread. Garren
  7. Great looking photos. I really like the one with the fire, with the sparks leaving the light trails. Garren
  8. Yes, make sure that the hair is clean and that you clean any underfur. The amount of hair can make a difference as well, try to only stack the hair that is needed for the fly. Garren
  9. There is the bit*h creek nymph which has a woven body and I believe it has been around for a long time. This fly utilizes a overhand weave where you never let go of the materials. This differs from the granny knot weave or the crotchet weave. You can substitute a woven body on a lot of nymphs to get a different look. Garren
  10. This purple woven stonefly shows the artistic side of realistic fly tying. I have never seen a pink and purple stonefly in the wild, but this artistic representation is sure to catch the fly fisherman's eye. Garren
  11. A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by garren: Artistic Realistic Stonefly
  12. Here is a PDF of a step by step of my woven mayfly. If you have been tying for a little bit, this is not an overly difficult fly. Here is the link: Woven Mayfly Garren
  13. Hi Roy, I just read Fish & Fly and saw that you were part of an article. I will have to give it a try. Makes sense about the tippet. What do you use as a post to tie the hackle around? Garren
  14. I like the look of the fly. Have you tried fishing it? It would be interesting to see how it floats in the water. Garren
  15. Nice looking fly. What are you using to color the wings? I have experimented a lot, but have found it difficult to find a pen to draw fine lines. Garren
