Favorite Bugger Colors?

What are your favorite colors for Wooly Buggers?

Olive, black, white, brown, purple, chartreuse & occasionally yellow. These are the only colors I use any more, but I do tie with different materials (chenille, yarn, estaz, etc.) & sometimes combination of these colors.

 

If you really want to learn about buggers, get a copy of the book "Woolly Wisdom" by Gary Soucie. ;)

How could olive not be a choice in the poll?

 

My two favorites are all black and oilve with burnt orange tail and hackle.

I voted for black (best for me for smallmouth) and purple (ditto for steelhead).

I don't see Olive and Black up there---the classic coloring which is my favorite. :punk:

 

 

black tail with a little flash, olive body, black hackle. I've caught everything I can think of in fresh water in the USA on that pattern. Not saying others aren't good, because just about every color and color combo will work, but black/olive/black is a confidence fly.
