  3. I know this has been done before, but I finally went to Wal-mart to look for it and I found this package for only $5. It feels the same as the fly tying foam I bought from sportsmans, which is the small orange piece on top, 2 of those cost me $2.

  11. Thanks Brian Brown75 and Claudia. It's my first vice so I'm not sure how good the other ones are, but it's a good vice for the money. I wouldn't mind seeing more metal on it and it does flex a little were it rotates but the vise holds the hooks well, I've only had a few slip and to fix that I just tightened them down more.
  12. Thanks Fred, but I don't know if I would go that far; I've only been tying for about a month and am still learning with every wrap.
  13. Here's my first realistic fly let me know what you guys think. And I also wanted to thank Fred for putting together that great starter kit it was very informative and well put together :yahoo:
  14. Hey thanks guys for the great info and fast responses that helped a lot. I was reading in a book that if you tie the tip in first it helps them lean back is that right?
  15. Hey I was just wondering what the best way to wrap hackle was, every time I wrap it and tie it off I always get pieces pointing towards the eye thanks
