  4. There are several different species of Peacocks. The butterfly peacock is not a hybrid, just a species that is relatively smaller than some of the others. They usually don't get much past 5 lbs but can get a bit larger. The speckled Peacock is one of the larger varieties and they say can get up to 30 lbs. They released both speckled and butterfly peacocks into the Florida canal system but the butterfly were the ones to really take off. There are supposedly still some speckled peacocks around but pretty the vast majority of peacocks you will catch in South Florida are butterfly. By the way, beautiful pics Luiz, looks like a fantastic place to fish All right!! AGN54, here is a great place!!! Thanks! Tight lines!!

  6. Thanks Fly Man! If I remember correctly there are 14 species of peacock bass cataloged ... I know that peacock bass was introduced in Florida, but do not know what kind ... If the butterfly, it originates from the Amazon basin ... shown are those originating in the basin of the Araguaia and Tocantins. Tight lines!!
