For a great portable tool caddy that can fit in your fishing vest, find a hardshell eyeglass case. They can be had from an eye doctor for a couple of bucks. It won't hold everything, but you'd be surprised just how much will fit in one. Makes a great streamside tying companion. Here are some pics of mine:

Welcome to the Forum... I really like your eye glass case idea for holding tools when traveling, and it looks like it holds a lot, is slim, and best of all the bodkin tip wont prick me. Thanks, I'm going to get one for my trip back east in two weeks.
I have a drawer stuffed full of tools but the ones used most are on my tying desk in a couple orgaizers. The rotating Dyna King holds quite a few tools without taking up much space.

For my bobbins I punched holes in a piece of foam that came with the packaging for a computer shipment at work. The bobbins sit in there real nice.
Computers and electronics often come with some interesting foam packaging... worth your while to have the IT guys at work or whereever let you know when there's some new stuff to look at before it gets pitched.

One is for tools, the other for bobbins.
