  1. I am getting back into fly tying after a number of years away from it. One thing i was never very good at was tying in Wings on my flies. Can anyone give me a good reference for learning all i can about how to tie in Wings etc. Thanks and God Bless, May your lines always be tight and your flies always taste good to the fish your after. Terry
  2. used some Horse hair from a tail for a skirt on a spinner bait one time. did pretty good.
  3. Greetings from Texas, I hope everyone is doing ok. If your a deer hunter, hears to a great Deer hunting season for you. I am seeing a lot of Does coming in to the feeder, A few young Bucks are showing up to. I plan on doing a lot of fly tying during the winter months. I am hoping someone can recommend a fantastic book on the subject of cold water trout species. I want to learn as much as I can about these great little Big fish. I was a bass fisherman for years then while recuperating from some major operations over the past decade I became interested in fly fishing and fly tying. I have already learned a lot, but the more i learn the more i want to learn. Thanks for your help and I pray that your lines may always be tight.
  4. Im Terry, from Decatur, TX "Eighter from Decatur, County Seat of Wise". This saying came around during WWII. It was a way that locals from Decatur had of identifying where they were from. I think there was even a song produced in Nashville about it. I have been attempting to tie flies now off and on for about 15 years, but only really sat down and started studying the art about a year and half ago. I am medically disabled due to Short Bowel Syndrome, 17 years ago an er doctor f******* up and didn't do his job right. This resulted in a blockage blowing out. Three major operations i live with only 20 percent of my intestines total. Its not an easy life but by the grace of God, I am still here and doing my best to enjoy life. I am looking to meet someone who has been tying for a while who would be willing to mentor me. My email address is [email protected]
