Alex, There used to be an association in Michigan that published a directory of exotic and game bird dealers here. I think it was the Michigan Game Bird Breeders Assoc.??? You may be able to hunt around online or call the ag dept to locate them. Talking to some local breeders may give you an idea of the work involved. My buddy and I used to raise golden and amherst pheasants in s.e. michigan. It was a lot of fun - does take away from fishing though! Would be fun with the kids. Kelvin

I haven't tied on a lot of other modern vises so I can't offer a good comparision to current models. I can tell you that my Regal has been going strong for 15+ years and holds all the hooks sizes I need - #2 - #24 (haven't really tried any outside that range). I love not needing to adjust the jaws plus the simplicity of use. Just my two cents, Kelvin

The base of the body feathers make great nymph gills. Good example is the Bears Hex Nymph

I just finished mine up and should be in the mail today or tomorrow. tt - I hear you. You'd think flies as big as these would be easier! I figured it would be a good time to try an extended foam body. It was much more of a pain than I thought. I'm not totally happy with them - sorry everybody! At least these will be floated under the cover of darkness
