  1. If you haven't gone yet, the docklights in the river and around Ono can be hot with speckled trout. I generally use a 2-3" synthetic bunker type fly (resembles all the baitfish that are circling the docks) Can't go wrong with a light char/white clouser. I've also put the smack down on Spanish and Bluefish around Perdido Pass on very small bullet-head flies when they are in there eating the glass minnows this time of year. I haven't done much surf fishing with flies there, but there are plenty of whiting, jacks, ladyfish running the beach. i would prospect with a white or chartreuse(yellow)/white clouser bouncing through the surf. If it's pompano you're hoping to catch, I'd try what I call a "Goldie". #2 34007, bead or conehead, Gold estaz body, small wing of tan super-hair. You can add a couple of strands of gold flash, but I normally pull them out after i get refused a couple of times It's normally added for the looks. bounce this trough the surf and It resembles a Sand Flea. I've used this pattern with great results for redfish when they are feeding on small crustaceans in very clear water on sand bars.
  2. We should try to post some pics or reports on fish caught on the flies.
  3. Sorry for the delay fellas, Florida's on FIRE! They should be there in the next day.
  4. MOst of my bridge tarpon have been caught on large shrimp patterns tied in white and tan. I'll try to get some together for you before you go. Last time we were down there we had a blast with BIG cudas on fly. I've got a couple of ballyhoo tied up that I'd love to have pics of some pelagics on!
  5. Don't know why I didn't see the date earlier :dunno: Kenneth K, what are you targeting in the keys? I've got LOTS of materials to tie up clousers, charlies, and I'd love for you to try out some other crustacean-type flies that I've had laying around. Let me know. Rey
  6. swapmeister, when do you want them by?
  7. Question, do ya'll use crab patterns at all? If so, instead of the 3-D, I'll tie a N.Fla killer, the Batman. It's fairly heavy with brass dumbell eyes, but I'm sure I can try to lighten it up to stay on the top of the water column. Let me know.
  8. New to the forums. Been a little bit since I've tied much, but trying to get away from all the bait slingin' again!
  9. Hey guys I'm new here, but would love to join in. I don't know how ya'll run them. If I can get in, I'll tie 3-D Neer Hair Minnows. Capt. Rey Enriquez Tampa, FL
